Human-Wildlife Interaction
Between human life and wildlife, there is a wide range of interdependence and interconnectedness. In this course “Sustainable Development for the Environment”, we visited Shoushan National Nature Park (Kaohsiung City, Taiwan) where we get to know that human being used to feed the macaques, and we visited the forests and we were very close to them, and people pass the say habitats and no physical danger we noticed.
Flashing back to my home country Tanzania in Gombe national park, I used to play with Chimpanzees. When Chimpanzees see a woman carrying a baby, they would take the baby and then return it to the woman. They also share food with people. Male Chimpanzees give security to their family. We pass their habitats through small trails on the way to Lake Tanganyika to- and-fro every time.
In the two countries, interaction between wildlife and human community is very high. Increase in human population leads to disappearance of wildlife’s habitats, and the animals will be exposed to death risk due to biological and ecological factors. I think knowledge on sustainable development is important to keep the human-wildlife interconnectedness sustainable.
Thanks.
