A Chinese Cultural Trip to Chianan
The Chinese Language & Culture Center of Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) organized a Chianan Cultural Trip to bring both foreign and Taiwanese students to the Southern Branch of National Palace Museum and Jingliao Historical Street for Chinese culture and indigo dying art learning.
The Museum exhibited “Classic Ceramics Patterns and Colors of Ming Dynasty” as well as “Asian Textiles.” Guided by cultural lectures, students shared features of ceramics from different countries and their personal preference. In addition to exposure to Taiwanese history and culture, students were offered exchange opportunities to feel charms and diversities of cultures in different countries.
On Jingliao Historical Street, students for the first time learned indigo dying and showed their creativity to design their own unique scarfs. Students thought it was an interesting learning experience to get to know skills and beauty of indigo dying.
