Research
The research in our department focuses on biological detection in addition to molecular prevention and therapy. Both features are integrated into the curriculum design, professional programs and student activities. In biological detection, we collaborate with Bachelor Degree Program in Environment and Food Safety Laboratory Science, Chang Jung Christian University, to establish a certified laboratory for food safety inspections. On the other hand, our faculty are also devoted to the development of detection strategies for skin and viruses. In molecular prevention and therapy, aging-associated diseases, biomedical engineering, cancer molecular biology, and environmental biotechnology are our major focus. Specific topics that are currently under study include the pathogenesis and pharmacology of leukemia, oral cancer, and osteoporosis, interdisciplinary development of nanomedicine and nanobiotechnoloy, as well as the environmental impact of pollutants on gene repair and embryonic development of fish in Erren River, which was a notoriously polluted river close to our campus.
