Chang Jung Christian University Welcomes Czech Exchange Students, Promotes International Cultural Ex
On July 11, 2024, ten exchange students from the Czech Republic, accompanied by their buddies from Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU), participated in the "2024 Summer School Czech Exchange Students Field Trip," gaining an in-depth experience of Taiwanese culture and history.
In the morning, the group visited the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Chiayi. Known for its rich collection of artworks and exquisite exhibitions, the museum left the students in awe. The exchange students not only admired precious artifacts but also learned more about Taiwanese history and culture through guided tours.
In the afternoon, the group joined a guided walking tour of Chiayi, organized by Island Walks. The tour route started from Chiayi Railway Station and included visits to Yichang Mountain Products Store, Yiyin Grass Jelly, Lai Xin Cheng Incense Shop, Chiayi Sewing Machine, Central First Market, Colorful Ice Fruit Shop, Yongchang Store, Yiliang Ice Factory, Sculpture Street, and finally, Dayi Candy Store. This route covered many historically and culturally significant sites in Chiayi City, allowing the Czech students to experience local customs firsthand and deepen their understanding of Taiwanese culture.
This event not only facilitated exchanges between Taiwanese and Czech students but also provided the Czech students with a deeper understanding of Taiwan, adding a vibrant chapter to their summer school experience.
CJCU has always placed great importance on international exchange, recognizing the significance of globalization for global citizens. Through such exchange activities, students can broaden their international perspectives and promote understanding and respect between different cultures.
Additionally, CJCU has sent nine students to University of Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic for exchange studies. This exchange program has been ongoing for nearly ten years and is highly appreciated by students from both Taiwan and the Czech Republic. These students not only gain professional knowledge but also experience the local culture and lifestyle, enriching their academic journey with valuable experiences.
CJCU will continue to promote international exchanges, providing students with diverse learning opportunities and cultivating talents with international competitiveness.
