Mr. Wan-Yi Huang Memorial Scholarship
Article 1 Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) was commissioned by the chairman of TECO Electric and Machinery, Mr. Theodore Mao-Hsiung Huang to set up the "Mr. Wan-Yi Huang Memorial Scholarship" and establish the "Application Method of Mr. Wan-Yi Huang Memorial Scholarship for Indigenous Students" in honor of Mr. Wan-Yi Huang, in order to encourage and assist indigenous students in CJCU with their studies to be useful to the future society.
Article 2 Students who are currently enrolled in CJCU and meet the following qualifications may submit their applications:
- Having household registration in Taiwan area and indigenous identity, or being in a single parent family with an indigenous mother;
- Received a grade average of 60 or above in the previous academic year, a grade of 80 or above for ethical conduct and had no record of disciplinary actions. (For freshmen, the results are based on the transcripts from the final year of high school);
- Have no received any other scholarships & grants in the curent semester.
Article 3 Application Time: Annouced when the semester begins.
Article 4 Materials required: Applicants should apply by submitting the following documents to the office of EAD.
- Application form;
- An autobiography;
- Original transcripts from the previous academic year (For freshmen, original transcripts from the final year of high school);
- Household certificates of all family members (issued within 3 months);
The following documents are non-essential but applicants with these will be first considered as scholarship recipients according to the order of priority. - Original low-income household certificate;
- Original certificate proving the encounter of any accident or facility disaster.
- Original household income certificate issued by the National Taxation Bureau of the Ministry of Finance.
Article 5 There are only 6 scholarship quotas offered every year, each recipient will be awarded NT$20,000. The allocation of scholarship will be reviewed by the Scholarship and Funding of Part-Time Works Students Review Committee of CJCU according to the following order of priority and approved by the President. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- Low-income household;
- Encountered any family disaster in the past 2 years;
- Achieved excellent academic performance: Received a grade average of 80 or above in the previous academic year;
- Indigenous students with total annual household income below NT$700,000. The total annual household income includes the income of the student applicant, parents and grandparents & siblings who live together.
Article 6 The mentioned scholarship awards are appropriated from the donation by the chairman of TECO Electronic & Machinery, Mr. Theodore Mao-Hsiung Huang.
Article 7 The mentioned scholarship is executed by the "Scholarship and Funding of Part-Time Works Students Review Committee" established by CJCU and recommended preferred recipients to the TECO Electric & Machinery Co. Ltd. for training. The execution results are regularly reported to the donor in written form.
Article 8 The donor may put forward amendment at any time according to the actual situation.
Article 9 This method has been agreed by the donor and went into effect following approval of the President. Amendments will follow the same procedure.
