Housing Information

1. All new undergraduate students will have to register or relinquish their housing online (for new full-time undergraduate students).

(1) For new undergraduate students admitted through any selection channel or independent admission who have already registered for their bed space, please do not duplicate application for dormitory.

(2) Important housing timetable for new students (browsers with Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher are recommended).

New student move-in day

Reporting time is scheduled according to departments.

1. To relinquish housing: You must relinquish housing online in order to delete housing charges from the tuition and miscellaneous fee registration form. The procedure is as follows:

(1) Application time and method: Log in to the CJCU website between 10 am on 08/16 (Tue) and 4 pm on 08/22(Mon) Campus Services Student Portal New Student Area Freshman Bed Assignment Select "Relinquish Housing" complete the Relinquish Housing information.

(2) Log in to the CJCU homepage on 08/24(Wed) and select "Enrolled Students." Log in to the "Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees Payment Area" in the Student Portal or "Public Information Area" to print the latest registration payment slip.

2. Application for housing: You must go online to apply for housing. The housing categories are: 1. Early Bedtime Bedrooms and 2. General Dormitory.

(1) Early Bedtime Bedrooms: Housing fee is NT$13,174 per semester for female students and NT$14,378 per semester for male students. These rooms are mainly for students who are asleep before 10 pm and who have a normal life routine, and who can accept Internet shut down at 11 pm. Please do not apply if your needs are inconsistent with the regulations. Those who are noisy after move-in and who fail to improve after warnings shall be moved without any objection to another dormitory by the school.

The application procedure is as follows:

(a) Application time and method: From 10 am on 08/16 (Tue) to 4 pm on 08/22 (Mon), a NT$3,000 housing security deposit must be paid in advance (please refer to Step 1 for payment methods). From 10 am on 08/16(Tue) to 4 pm on 08/22(Mon), log in to the Student Portal New Student Area Freshman Bed Assignment Select "Register Dormitory" complete housing information. If applications for Early Bedtime Bedrooms exceed the quota, a lottery will be conducted. Those who are not selected by the lottery will be transferred to the general dormitories. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

(b) If applications for early bedtime bedrooms exceed the quota, a lottery will be drawn at 10 am on 08/23 (Tue). Those who are not selected by the lottery will be transferred to general bedrooms and the school will assign their bed space. Those who are selected and those who are not selected by the lottery can inquire their bedroom number on at 10:00 am on 08/24 (Wed) by logging in to the Student Dormitory Area of the Student Portal (webpage for the original application) or the webpage of the Student Life and Residential Service Section.

(2) General bedrooms

Step 1  Pay the NT$3,000 housing security deposit. (For deposit payment method, please refer to the webpage video in the Student Life and Residential Service Section/ New Student Area)

1. New students (excluding overseas Chinese students) must complete their NT$3,000 payment between 10 am on 08/16 (Tue) to 4 pm on 08/22 (Mon) using their bank ATM transfer account (this fee is not included in the housing fee, and can not be included into the application for student loan or fee waiver). The housing application is regarded as completed only upon payment of the housing security deposit. Those who fail to pay the deposit by the deadline will lose their eligibility for bed space.

Payment methods for housing security deposit are as follows:

(1) Transfer payment from the automatic teller machine (ATM) of a financial institution using a bank card (transfer need not be made in person).

(2) After inserting the bank card into the ATM, select the "Transfer" function. (Please verify whether the bankcard has a transfer function).

(3) Enter the bank code "822"for China Trust Commercial Bank.

(4) Enter the 16-digit "Bank Payment Account Number": 8115480 + the last 9 digits of the new student’s ID card number.

(5) Enter the transfer amount of NT$3,000.

(6) Complete the payment (please print out the transaction receipt to verify whether the balance is a number; if it shows asterisks (*), it may indicate that the transaction has failed). Please keep the original transaction receipt for verification.

2. If you wish to relinquish your bed space after paying, please contact the handling unit at 06-2785123 ext 1250 before September 14 (Tue) to cancel. Those who fail to relinquish by the deadline shall not be refunded their housing security deposit, and the loss of student rights and interests shall not be objected. For students who have relinquished their beds within the deadline, please submit your personal remittance account and a photocopy of your personal ID card for refund of the housing security deposit. For those whose accounts are not with Yuanta Bank, First Commercial Bank or the post office, please note that a handling fee will be charged for the remittance.

3. All housing students are required to pay a NT$3,000 housing security deposit in order to reserve their bed space for one academic year and use dormitory properties. After the housing security deposit is paid, it will not be refunded if the student withdraws from the housing during the year regardless of whether the student has moved in or not. The housing security deposit will only be refunded without interest in July of the following year upon verification of proper housing withdrawal procedure, and deposited into the bank or post office account from which the student remitted the payment.

Step 2  Online registration for housing.

1. Online application time: Please apply for housing on the Student Portal of the CJCU website from 10 am on 08/16 (Tue) to 4 pm on 08/22 (Mon). Students are asked to log in to the Student Portal at 10 am on 08/24 (Wed) to check their room assignment.

2. Online registration for bed space assignment: Please log in to the Student Portal of the CJCU website New Student Area Freshman Bed Space Assignment; select "Register Dormitory". Please refer to the online extended information (Bed space application procedure for new full-time undergraduate students) for operating instructions.

3. New first year undergraduate students have priority for campus housing. If the number of applications exceed the number of beds, then new students whose homes are near the school (within 10 kilometers) such as in the Guiren District, Rende District, Luzhu District, Alian District, Guanmiao District, East District, and Yongkang District shall draw lots for housing. If all the beds are filled by 08/22 (Mon), the Student Life and Residential Service Section will post the name list of those selected and those not selected by the lottery on the website of the Student Life and Residential Service Section after 10:00 am on 08/23 (Tue). Those selected by the lottery are asked to log in to the Student Portal at 10 am on 08/24 (Wed) to check their bedroom assignment.

Step 3  Checking bed space and bedroom location online:

1. Please log in to the Student Portal at 10 am on 08/24 (Wed) to check bedroom and bed space assignment (Student Portal Freshman Area Print housing application form Do not print Check bed space)

2. Since CJCU's Second Dormitory and Third Dormitory are both loft bedrooms, only very few lower berth bedrooms are provided. For those who need to sleep on the lower berth due to unavoidable circumstances as physical conditions, please contact the Student Life and Residential Service Section before 08/17 (Wed) while availability lasts.

3. CJCU has four dormitories. Their fees differ according to the dormitory, and the charges will be refunded or additionally collected based on the actual housing location. Those who need to pay an additional charge should complete the payment at the CJCU Cashier Section before 09/16 (Fri). Those eligible for refund will receive a deposit in the bank or post office account from which they remitted the payment two months after the beginning of the semester.

(3) Other reminders

1. Move-in for new students starts from 08:00 am on 08/27 (Sat) to 08/28 (Sun). Students will report for move-in according to assigned schedule. Male students will report to the Third Dormitory and Fourth Dormitory, and female students will report to the Second Dormitory and Fourth Dormitory.

2. The bedrooms are about six pings. Students are welcome to view the descriptions, photos, maps and Q&A on the New Student Area of the Student Life and Residential Service Section website.

3. On the day of move-in, first collect your bedroom key from the dormitory manager in the lobby on the first floor.

4. Dormitory access in CJCU is controlled. The main entrance is opened at 5:30 in the morning and closed at 12 o'clock in the evening. During regular hours, students can access their dormitory using their key card.

5. Air-conditioning in the dormitories in CJCU is based on weather conditions. Air-conditioning supply is from 11:30 to 13:30 during the day, and from 18:30 to 02:00 at night. The supply time is adjusted accordingly during summers and winters.

6. Daily hot water supply is from 17:30 to 24:00.

7. Lights are turned off in the hallways and bedrooms at 12:30 in the morning, leaving only night lights.

8. Students are advised to bring their own fall and winter clothing, beddings, toiletries, slippers, hair dryer, flashlight and table lamp, and write their name on their personal belongings.

9. Each dormitory is equipped with hot- and cold-water drinking fountains and coin-operated washing machines, spinners and dryers.

10. To ensure the overall public safety of the dormitories, high-power appliances such as electric cookers, televisions, refrigerators, ovens, electric stoves, induction stoves, gas stoves, electric hot pots, electric kettles and electric spoons are prohibited in dormitory areas.

11. Do not bring large amounts of cash. Instead use bank or post office ATM cards.

12. CJCU has automatic teller machines installed throughout campus:  Yuanta Bank (Administration Building, Second Academic Building), First Commercial Bank (Third Dormitory), and Post Office (Second Academic Building, Second Dormitory).

13. All housing students should take the initiative to refer to and abide by the dormitory management regulations and comply with the supervision (guidance) of the management personnel. Apply for leave when away from the dormitory overnight. Littering, smoking, gambling, playing mahjong, drinking, or admitting the opposite gender into the dormitories are strictly prohibited in the dormitories to ensure the quiet of the dormitories and create a good reading and learning environment.

14. Smoking is banned in all CJCU dormitories. Those found smoking in the dormitories will be issued a minor demerit for the first offense, and will be ordered to withdraw from the dormitories on the second offense.

2. Housing instructions for master's and doctoral program students, bachelor degree program students (admitted through application) and new graduate students.

(1) Processing for master's and doctoral program is completed by 06/24 (Fri). Those who need housing may participate in the first round of waiting list for student dormitory. Please refer to the website of the Student Life and Residential Service Section on 08/31 (Wed) for announcements.

(2) Processing for new bachelor degree program students (admitted through selection) is completed by 06/24(Fri). Please do not duplicate application. Refunds will be deposited into the bank or post office account from which the student remitted the payment two months after the beginning of the semester. 

(3) Reminders for housing application for bachelor degree program students (admitted through application) are as follows:

1. Students who wish to apply should bring NT$3,000 in cash to the CJCU Student Life and Residential Service Section before 10:00 am on 09/01(Thu) for payment.

2. Bedrooms and bed spaces are assigned by the school. Please check the announcement webpage of the Student Life and Residential Service Section at 4 pm on 09/02 (Fri).

3. CJCU has four dormitories. Their fees differ according to the dormitory, and the charges will be refunded or additionally collected based on the actual housing location. Those who need to pay an additional charge should complete the payment at the CJCU Cashier Section before 09/23 (Fri). Those eligible for refund will receive a deposit in the bank or post office account from which they remitted the payment two months after the beginning of the semester.

3. Traffic arrangements

To divert and ease traffic, new students are requested to try to arrive according to the following schedule:

08/27(Sat)-September 21(Tue): College of Management, School of Information and Design, School of Safety and Health Sciences,  College of Continuing Education

08/28(Sun): College of Health Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Fine Arts, and Master and Doctoral Programs in Research Institutes

5. Internet service in student dormitories

(1) The Internet in CJCU student dormitories is serviced by "Chunghwa Telecom FTTB+HINET".

(2) Internet fee is already included in the housing fee. No additional fee is required for dormitory Internet. The wired Internet bandwidth per person is about 10M, and the wireless Internet bandwidth in each bedroom is about 5M.

Gentle reminder: Only information outlets are provided in the dormitory rooms. If you wish to use wired network, please provide your own 3~5m RJ-45 network cable.
