What do we learn in the Department of Mass Communication? "Does the Department of Mass Communication train you to be a DJ?" "Do you make films in the Department of Mass Communication?" "Is training reporters what the Department of Mass Communication does?" These are some of the questions often asked by freshmen when deciding on their major department. We teach this—and more—in the Department of Mass Communication. Our department aims to cultivate students' capabilities in media planning, implementation, integration, and production. The core fields of study include news, public relations, advertising, and audio/video communication. In other words, if you join the Department of Mass Communication, our professional team will make you a cross-field, omni-media talent. |
We have an on-campus internship center for traditional and new media, to implement the idea of "knowledge-action integration."In response to the development and trend of digital convergence and new media, we founded the CJCU TV, integrating the physical and internet radio station of Star Radio and CJCU MASSCOMM TIMES as the on-campus practice and internship center for students in the Department of Mass Communication. Future students will be able to apply for an internship in our own media center, allowing them to thrive and grow their knowledge and abilities through hand-on practice. This approach allows our students to be seen and heard even before reaching the job market. |
On- and off-campus media internships increase students’ competitiveness on the job marketWe provide opportunities for off-campus internships in media, including print and electronic media, public relations, advertising, marketing, radio, and video communication companies. Over half of our students apply for a 30-60 day internships in related industries during the summer of their junior year through existing arrangements. We help our students build the bridge to related industries so that they can find a job right after graduation, using their competitive advantage. |
