"Healthy Body Weight - Home Run" Series Activities Wrap-Up

After almost 3 months of hard work, the organizer of the event "Healthy Body Weight - Home Run", Health Service Division of CJCU and the participants wrapped up their weight loss results and held the closing ceremony at the 3rd conference room in the Administration Building on 2nd June 2017. The students presented their results by walking the catwalk and sharing their experiences, creating a lively atmosphere for the event. This program was participated by 43 staffs and students who have a BMI larger than 28. 38 people completed and lost 189kg in total. The average weight lost by each participant is 4.97kg. The best weight controller is Shen from the Department of Social Work, who lost 8.4kg which is 12.69% of her total body weight; The best body fat controller is Hsu from the Department of Social Work, who lost 7% of body fat and 10.9kg of body weight. The results are literally excellent.
The event "Healthy Body Weight - Home Run" had been held for 13 weeks. There were intensive courses which mainly covered the shaping of "healthy body weight" and diet knowledge. On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the participants did aerobic exercises, gym, Pilates, Yoga, core workout and other trainings. They were guided the essentials of maintaining physical fitness and to build up the daily habits of exercising. On Tuesday and Thursday, they received nutrition assessment and consultation. Each participant was arranged a customized course, targeted specially on their physical needs and diet habits and was taught about food nutrition assessment, calorie control, diet calories calculation and health behavior management. During the event, the participants' persistance in will power encouraged them to support each other in the effort of losing their weight.
