Course Structure
The department is oriented towards training well-rounded, qualified personnel. The biggest difference with other schools consists in the department’s implementation of a three-level curriculum, which modularizes the curriculum to guide students to pursue courses that are of interest and are related to future career opportunities. In addition, the Institute's courses are guided by comprehensive research and are rich in a variety of Japanese related research topics.
Master's Degree Course
The course is not limited to a single subject or a specialized field, but instead focuses on the comprehensive and total research. The research scope spans from "linguistics", "literary" and "social", to "economic and trade", and provides a wide range of interdisciplinary groups such as linguistics, literature, education, economics, business administration, and society.
University Department
Freshman ~ Junior Year have Japanese language required courses to develop the basic abilities of speaking, listening, reading and writing in accordance with the degree of learning, in order to achieve the best learning effect. Senior Year has graduation topics, which vary according to the selected topics and the guidance of professors. The elective courses are divided into four major modules: “Language” and “Translation” in the professional category, “Tourism” and “Trade and Economy” in the comprehensive category. A total of four module courses are offered; students can follow their interests and career planning since the beginning of the university. The module is designed to allow students to have both good foreign language skills and professional knowledge when they enter the workplace, or to lay a solid foundation for further studies or Japanese language teaching and research.
