The Purpose of LMD
In response to the call for global sustainability, the establishment of the LMD focused on the sustainable use of land and environmental resources at the local level. This program enables students to develop the professional knowledge that manage and develop land resources. We expect to offer high-quality college education for professionals in "land management and development" can be achieved through multidisciplinary courses, like market-oriented curriculum planning, the application of computer simulation and engineering practices, and project financial management.
Goals of the LMD
The educational goals of the LMD strive to follow the vision prescribed by the CJCU motto and developmental directions set by the College of Management, which are professionalism, innovation, ethics, and service. The aim is to establish a sustainable teaching, learning, and research environment, with progressive innovation. Graduates of the LMD are equipped with the appropriate knowledge of land management and developmental to support their future professional duties in land-related businesses.
A. A Professional Development of our Department
Global environmental changes bring environmental threats. A multi-disciplinary approach, developing new outlooks, technologies and concepts in the field of land management and development will help achieve sustainable development nationally and internationally through these challenging times.
Our department emphasizes an integrated approach to production, lifestyle, and ecology, which must be integrated to achieve common welfares among economic, social, and the environment. Thus, the content of our professional development curriculum can be summarized as follows:
- Raising economic profit: Land is a limited resource, profitably utilized through market analyses, appraisal theories, investment evaluation, financial planning, and other methods to maximize profit.
- Attaining social justice: Processes such as land use planning, construction management, operation managements, and marketing, all require the supervision of land regulations, political economic analyses, and regional governance to assure social equality and justice.
- Focus on environmental ethics: Ethical views are strengthened through environmental planning and management, ecological rural/urban planning, and environmental disaster mitigation.
B. Objectives of the LMD
The objectives of the LMD is driven by the ideals of forming a sustainable development and directed by the educational goals of CJCU, the College of Management, as well as the LMD,
- To construct a sustainable environment for teaching, learning, and research;
- To pursue professional education with progressive actions, innovations, complemented with sustainable development ideology;
- To incubate academic and professional expertise in land-related subjects;
