History of the Department of Nursing
- After being approved by the National Board of Education, the Chang Jung Christian University (then the Chang Jung School of Management) established the Department of Nursing in 1997. The first class of students were recruited for the bachelor’s degree of nursing through the College Entrance Exam that fall. In the first year 50 students were admitted, all male. Subsequently, the gender restriction was removed and 50-60 undergraduates were admitted each year.
- The RN to BSN program was established in 2002 but discontinued in 2009.
- The MSN program was established in 2005.
- In 2015, the Department of Nursing admitted 2 students with a full scholarship from the Taiwanese Government and the accompanying obligation to work in a rural area after graduation.
- In 2016, the BSN program accepted 100 freshmen, divided into 2 classes.
