Introduction to AMM
History
The Department was established in 1996, with the educational objective of developing maritime and aviation management professionals, endowed with business ethics, social responsibility and a down-to-earth attitude.
The Master's program, established in 2003, provides advanced aviation and maritime knowledge and management expertise. Its educational objective is to produce advanced maritime and aviation management professionals with industry knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving abilities and a global outlook.
Taiwan is surrounded by the sea. Its economic growth and the international trade is highly dependent on aviation and maritime transport, hence the strong demand in the expertise in these fields. In addition to the educational objective stated above, the Department particularly focuses on three core competencies of students: professional aviation and maritime knowledge, communication skills and practical abilities.
Our graduates enter a wide range of job markets, such as airlines, maritime transportation companies, shipping agencies, freight forwarders, logistics companies, import & export trading companies etc. Some excellent graduates are already in high-ranking managerial positions.
The Department obtained the Accreditation of Chinese Collegiate School of Business ( ACCSB) in August 2017, a global nonprofit association, connects educators, students, and will continue to promote course and teaching-quality improvement programs.
Establishment goals
The Undergraduate program is designed to cultivate maritime and aviation management professionals with business ethics, social responsibility and a down-to-earth attitude. The curriculum provides professional aviation and maritime-related courses, completed by the University’s holistic education and the College of Management’s more general courses.
The Master's program is designed to cultivate advanced maritime and aviation management professionals with business ethics, service to society and down-to-early attitude.
Course planning
The Department works closely with industry through pro-actively inviting managerial professionals to teach courses or give speeches on campus, and giving career guidance to students so that they may gain insight into their future profession. The Department has also implemented an internship system with industry, enhancing students’ professional experience, and giving them an understanding of practical operations, which textbooks or lectures alone cannot provide.
The undergraduate program covers six domains
1. maritime and port management,
2. airline and airport management,
3. transportation and logistics,
4. management science,
5. computer skills,
6. general education.
The courses aim to provide students with three core competencies: aviation and maritime professional knowledge, communication skills and practical abilities.
Direction for development
1. Enhance the research quality and quantity of teachers and graduate students, establishing an academic position in the aviation and maritime fields.
2. Enhance international communication, catching up with the internationally renowned schools.
3. Strengthen aviation and maritime academic research, providing society with advanced management expertise and competitiveness of the industry.
Teaching facilities
1. The general teaching hardware and software are provided by the school,
2. Teaching software: LiveABC+CNN, one set of airline computer booking system, one set of maritime simulation operating system, one set of EZWin electronic automatic customs system, one set of air cargo forwarding system, one set of EZWin5101 air import system and EDI system.

Development features
1. The Department is one of the three aviation and maritime departments in the higher education system in Taiwan, and the only one that incorporates both aviation and maritime courses in its curriculum design,
2. Comprehensive teaching group, the expertise of teachers fulfills the development and needs of the Department,
3. Good interaction with industry, arranging student internships during summer vacations, supporting the various certificate exams,
4. Supporting thesis writing skills, increase the fundamental abilities of students for pursuing further studies,
