The Department of Translation and Interpretation Studies (DTIS), a “third‑generation” language department, offers programs in both undergraduate and graduate degrees. DTIS integrates language study with modern technology, combine theory with practical training, and offer an innovative alternative to the traditional applied foreign language curriculum. In line with national policies such as the “Action Plan for Building an English Living Environment” and the government’s push toward internationalization.
The DTIS seeks to equip students with basic‑ to high‑level translation/ interpretation skills, including a primary foreign language proficiency in English and secondary ability in an additional foreign language (Japanese, French, German, or Spanish). Its goal is to produce graduates who can meet the increasing demand for T&I skills in fields such as government, commerce, science and technology, tourism, meetings and conventions, and education.
