《Academic counseling》English exemption and achievement assessment
I. English course waiver
i. Target: Applicable only to new enrolled students and transfer students. The time to apply is only limited to the first week of new enrollment.
ii. Time for application and the required documents: Those wishing to apply for English course exemption should apply through the Student Portal within the first week of enrollment. Then, print out the application form and submit with relevant supporting documents to the Language Education Center.
iii. English courses are required courses offered by the Language Education Center. "English I” and “English II" are offered for freshmen, and "Basic Foreign Language -English I” and “Basic Foreign Language -English II" are offered for sophomores.
Note 1: CJCU International students from English-speaking countries and the official language is English are exempt from English courses. Please provide an original ID document and complete the application at the Language Education Center according to the above mentioned procedure.
Note 2: The test date is based on the first day of each academic year; provide original transcripts or certificates from within the last two years. No application will be accepted after the deadline.

II. English graduation requirement
Full-time undergraduate day-school students must meet one of the following English graduation requirements in order to obtain the qualifications for graduation:
i. Students must achieve the department's official English proficiency test requirements.
ii. Students must complete comprehensive courses (0 credits, totaling 36 hours) at their own expense.
iii. Students must accumulate up to 100 points through English-related activities recognized by the Language Education Center.
Note. As for transfer students, they are advised to refer the relevant information in the applicable curriculum plan and the academic year.
