Education Goals & Core Ability

　　In cooperation with Taiwan’s local orchid industry, the program aims to develop into a specialized program focuses on the study of orchid industry. Through mobile learning, students take internship in the orchid industry. This program also cooperates with University of Malaya. We offer exchange programs between the two universities. Students from Taiwan are able to attend the exchange program and study away from home. Through the cooperation between countries and industries, we expect to nurture international orchid marketing specialists. Our goal is to cultivate local talents, develop international connections, develop an applied orchid industry bachelor’s program, and create a new future in South-East Asia for Taiwan’s orchid industry.

　　The goal of the program is to let students learn knowledge in school and develop hands-on experience in the marketplace. They will be equipped with global view through international activities. The students will have the ability to innovate, market, and manage orchid-related products. So the orchid industry can reach the goal of globalization. Therefore, there are two primary developments in this program. They are explained as follow:

(1). The establishment of Bachelor Degree Program of Orchid Industry Application boosts students learning interest by joining inter-disciplinary programs.

　　The program is inter-department, inter-disciplinary, and inter-university. The aim is to find the characteristics of the orchid industry and the needs in the marketplace. We also aim to build up an innovation and marketing model for the orchid industry. In order to reach the above-mentioned goals, the program will be cooperated by the Department of Bioscience Technology and Department of Innovation Application and Management. The professors from Department of Bioscience Technology will teach students knowledge in bioscience so that students will be equipped with the ability to do R&D of the products. In addition, Department of Innovation Application and Management will give students the knowledge to market orchid products. Through the cooperation between two departments, the students in the program will be equipped with both R&D and marketing ability in the orchid industry. It is also expected to develop related industries and create greater economy influence. When two universities are working together, the two universities can share their resources. The Department of Bioscience Technology in Chang Jung Christian University has developed several health products and mosquito-repellants. They have much experience in developing those products. We believe that with their successful experience in developing products, their know-how can also be applied in the orchid industry and develop new business opportunities.

(2). The development of “Experts and Scholars’ Experience Sharing Model” helps students realize the business model in the industry through the cooperation between schools and enterprises.

    The development of the program is based on the experience in the industry, and the“Experts and Scholars’ Experience Sharing Model” is established. Theories are used to help students understand what they do. The program cooperates with the orchid industry in Taiwan. By using Experts and Scholars’ Experience Sharing Model”, experts will lead students to understand the growing and marketing models for orchid. It is expected that students will understand the operation of the orchid industry.
