Mission and Goals
Our Mission
The mission of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health is to serve as a source of expertise and a focus for training and research in workplace safety and health. We are committed to the intellectual and personal development of students.
Our Goals
To fulfill this mission, the department has established the goals for undergraduate students and graduate students, as followings:
- Goals for undergraduate students: Students possess mature and independent personality and become a workplace occupational safety and health managers. By graduation, we expect undergraduate students to possess core abilities of: 1) professional knowledges and skills; 2) problem solving skills; 3) literacy of responsibility and ethics; 4) management of time and resources; and 5) rational thinking and stress management.
- Goals for graduate students: Students are able to conduct research and become experts in workplace safety and health. By graduation, we expect graduate students to possess core abilities of: 1) research and professional knowledge; 2) evaluation and problem solving skills; 3) planning and making usage of resources; 4) social responsibilities and professional ethics; and 5) independent thinking and stress management.
