Article I. The Regulations are formulated to encourage outstanding overseas students to apply for admission and complete their studies at the University, and assist overseas students with settling into their new life in Taiwan, thereby promoting the internationalization of the University.
Article II. The “overseas students” referred to in the Regulations are foreign students and overseas Chinese students (including Hong Kong and Macao students, but excluding Mainland students) who meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education's regulations for overseas student status.
Article III. Eligibility for new students are as follow:
- Applicants must meet the University's eligibility requirements for overseas students and be admitted through the University's official admission channels. Transfer students are not eligible.
- Doctoral students shall apply in accordance with the Chang Jung Christian University Regulations for Overseas Doctoral Student Scholarships and Applications.
- Foreign students receiving the Taiwan Scholarship funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or the Ministry of Education (MOE), overseas students enrolled in government-funded special programs, or dual-nationality students whose tuition and miscellaneous fees are reduced in accordance with the "Ministry of Education Guidelines for Subsidizing the Tuition and Fee Reduction Difference for Private Colleges and Universities," are not eligible to receive this grant concurrently.
Article IV. Grant amount and review shall be based on the following principles:
- Admission grants in the first semester shall be NT $35,000.
- Grant applications shall be submitted to the Office of Global Engagement. The Office of Global Engagement shall convene a review committee to review student documents required by this Regulations, and approve grants accordingly.
Article V. Application Method and Deadline:
- Overseas students applying for this admission grant shall submit the Letter of Admission and the prescribed application form (Appendix) to the Office of Global Engagement upon receiving their admission notice. After approval, applicants may proceed with the tuition payment process. Under special circumstances where the application cannot be completed before enrollment, applicants may complete the application within one month after the beginning of the semester, and the approved grant shall be refunded accordingly.
- The application form may be downloaded from the website of the Office of Global Engagement.
Article VI. Submit the following documents for grant application:
- Grant Application Form.
- Two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English).
- Study plan (in Chinese or English).
- Autobiography (in Chinese or English; 300 ~ 500 words).
- For foreign students, submit proof of Chinese or English language proficiency.
- Transcripts of highest educational level at the time of admission.
- Other supporting documents (attach proof of low income for reference, if any).
Article VII. The grant quota for each academic year shall be adjusted according to the University budget.
Article VIII. Grant students found to have forged or provided false information shall have their grant qualification revoked and dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Article IX. The Regulations are implemented upon approval by the Scholarship, Grant and Work Study Review Committee, and subsequent approval by the University President; the same shall aplly to amendments.
