AMM features and career paths

Features

  1. It is one of the only three departments offering maritime and aviation management-related degrees in the higher education system in Taiwan.
  2. Students are divided into aviation and maritime groups, and students are offered opportunities to major in either aviation or maritime transportation.
  3. Students may receive credits for internship. A student internship committee handles matters related to student placement in practical industrial training, and organizes seminars on internship experience sharing, which we believe are a unique feature not found in other schools.
  4. Student thesis writing is emphasized. A thesis competition is held and excellent theses are recognized by awards.
  5. To enhance research and academic cooperation in this field, a maritime and aviation academic conference is held annually, hosted, in alternate years, at CJCU or at the Department of Shipping and Transportation Management, National Kaohsiung Marine University

In recent years, more than 80% of our graduates have obtained employment in transportation-related companies, such as maritime transportation companies, shipping agencies, dock handling companies, container terminals, freight forwarders, airlines, airports, logistics and warehouse companies, import & export trading companies, customs clearance companies, aviation and maritime transportation insurance companies, transportation consultancy companies and customs. Also, some graduates have worked as civil servants for the transportation division of local governments, the Ports Corporation, Taiwan Railway Administration and the Motor Vehicles Office.

Some of our graduates choose to pursue further studies in graduate institutes domestically or abroad. They earn their master’s degrees in various fields such as shipping management, maritime management, aviation management, transportation management (or the traffic engineering division in civil engineering), international business, business administration, management science, international trade etc. Around fifteen to twenty of our graduates pursue further studies each year.
