Q1:  How do I apply for the "Jane Goodall IPSD Scholarship" ?
A1:
You may obtain a recommendation letter(s) from any Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) around the world (http://reddotcreation.com/jane2017/en/) for your volunteer work in a Roots and Shoots program. If you have not been involved in a Roots and Shoots program, you could send the following information: (1) Personal Statement (specifically on your experience of environmental protection-related activities) and (2) Roots & Shoots Action plan (how the study will benefit your future Roots & Shoots Projects or equivalent actions) to a JGI in your country. They would recommend you if they consider you qualified and suitable for our program.

Q2: How do I apply for the "Jane Goodall IPSD Scholarship" if there is no local Jane Goodall Institute in my country?
A2:
You could send the following information: (1) Personal Statement (specifically on your experience of environmental protection-related activities) and (2) Roots & Shoots Action plan (how the study will benefit your future Roots & Shoots Projects or equivalent actions) to Executive Director Kok, Kelly by mail to "The Jane Goodall Institute-Taiwan (3F., No.9, Ln. 75, Yongkang St., DaAn Dist., Taipei City 106, Taiwan)", or by email to jgi.taiwan@gmail.com.

Q3: What is "Roots & Shoots Action Plan (study plan)" ?
A3:
The Roots & Shoots Formula Toolkit may help you get started. The action plan should include:
(1) Identify sustainability issues critical to your communities or natural systems.
(2) Develop an action plan to address the issues.

Q4: Besides the "Jane Goodall IPSD Scholarship", are there any other scholarships I can apply?
A4:
(1) You can apply for the Taiwan Scholarship, which is offered by two government agencies of Taiwan: the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). Please refer to the Taiwan Fellowships and Scholarships website for more detail.
(2) You can also apply for the "CJCU Overseas Student Scholarship". Please contact Admission Officer, Emily, Chen, at Tel:+886-6-2785123 #1812 or E-mail: emily1033@mail.cjcu.edu.tw.
Please note:
  • For students who are recipients of the "Taiwan Scholarship", CJCU will provide extra bursaries to make up the balance.
