Alien Resident Certificate Application

Alien Resident Certificate Application

Individuals arriving in Taiwan with a resident visa must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and a Re-entry Permit at the National Immigration Agency service center in their respective county or city within 30 days of the day following their arrival. Failure to apply within the specified time will result in a fine ranging from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.

 

Application

  1. Online application website for the ARC
  2. Register an account (please note your username and password)
  3. Click"Application"
  4. Click"First-time application for foreign students and oversea Chinese students"
  5. Click"Applicant"
  6. Please select the application method : Application with residence visa
  7. Please select identity : Foreign Student /Oversea Chinese Student
  8. Program of Study : Bachlor's Degree / Master's Degree etc
  9. Status of Study : Enrolled
  10. Upload documents
  11. Finish Applicant Information
  12. Pay the fee after approval
  13. Pick up the ARC at the Tainan City First Service Center with receipt

Required document

  1. 2-inch color photo within 6 months
  2. Passport
  3. Resident Visa
  4. Proof of residence  (Accommodation in the dormitory is provided by OGE Office. For off-campus housing, please attach the rental agreement.)
  5. Proof of enrollment (Student ID card)

Application fee

  • One year : NT1000
  • Two years :  NT2000
  • Three years : NT3000
  • Oversea Chinese Student : NT500 (One year)

Notice

  1. If there is a change in residence address, you must apply for a change of information within 30 days from the day after the change. Failure to apply for change of registration will result in a fine ranging from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.
  2. For the extension of the residence permit, you must apply within 3 months before the expiration of the residence period. Failure to apply for an extension within the required time will result in the following fines:
  • Overdue for less than 10 days: NT$10,000 fine.
  • Overdue between 11 and 30 days: NT$20,000 fine.
  • Overdue between 31 and 60 days: NT$30,000 fine.
  • Overdue between 61 and 90 days: NT$40,000 fine.
  • Overdue for more than 91 days: NT$50,000 fine.
