This year, Office of Chaplains and International Jan Goodall's Roots & Shoots Eco-Center jointly organized a series of activities for the Adulthood Service of CJCU student. There were Earth Day Roots and Shoots Programmes for River Walks on 420, Love Townships-Jianan Bicycle Tracer on 505 and today's 520 Adulthood Service, about 80 people participated. It is hoped that through this series of adult rites activities, students participating in the rites will realize and practice the responsibility of being an adult for their environment and ecology, and respect for themselves and others' lives; Through the demonstration of the actual action of the water environment, and the green roof vegetation - edible landscape cultivation, to realize the transformation of grown up is a responsible declaration, more grateful for the parental parenting and cultivation of the grace; and Receive the blessings from the teachers and pastors.
First of all, the music team of Student Fellowship opened with a beautiful song. The chairman of Office of Chaplains Rev. James Wu encouraged the students with the scriptures of Nehemiah 1:4-11. We should learn three kinds of behavior from Nehemiah, 1. Have a humble attitude; 2.Understand self-reflection 3.Pray for others.
Some International Students sang a Chinese song, "How Awesome You Are", which aroused the participants to resonate and win the applause.
There were the chairman of Board, the president and the teacher Prof. Shao-Hao Chou who is represented the class leader delivered some courageous words to students. The chairman of Board Prof. Szu-Hai Yang reminded the students that adult representatives should have basic legal knowledge, and also represent the responsibility of starting to bear responsibility for themselves and others, especially for the disadvantaged. The principal Dr. Yung-Lung Lee encouraged students in English that they should have Connecting learning and learn to be grateful. Prof. Shao-Hao Chou, the 2B class leader of Department of International Business, encourage students to study harder and seek God at CJCU in order to seek the right knowledge.
Dr. I-Ting HsiehXie, Director of International Jan Goodall's Roots & Shoots Eco-Center, promoted the water environment, and all the participants moved to the Eco-Center District for green roof vegetation. The planted plants are also a kind of edible potted plants. After planting, everyone picks up the planted plants and made shapes of CJCU 520 (I love you).
The event also invited the class leaders whom some of their students signed up for the 520 Adulthood Service event to write a blessing card in advance, and then transferred cards to them after the service; attending students also got a blank card to write down the words of gratitude to the parents. Office of Chaplains will send the card out for them.
Certificates of 420, 505 and 520 three activities were also issued on the same day. All the students also read the oath together, and they are willing to use their actual actions to show respect for their parents, caring for the school, contributing to the society and the country, and living a beautiful and richer life.
Thank God for listening to our prayers and giving the good weather, so that the adulthood service could be successfully completed.
