2019/06/05 Faculty and Staff Fellowship with celebrating the Retirement of Rev. Chang-Wan Ku
Date:2019/6/5 12:10~13:10 A.M.
Place:First Teaching Building Baseroom Chapel
At noon today, it was jointly organized by the Faculty and Staff Fellowship and we also held the lunch meeting for Family Care memebers at the end of this semester. And we also celebrated the retirement of the pastor of Chang-Wan Ku. Ms. Ching-Huey Chen, who is one of parents of the caring family, is also the leader of the fellowship, sharing her feelings as a caring parent. She originally thought that caring parents should be a giver, and the becared of a freshman should be the reciver, but she was assigned to be a careable freshman who comes from a children and families center (Taiwan Fund for Children and Families). So, when I heard the words of this student, I actually was benefited a lot from her. The Office of Chaplains also prepared a blank thank-you card for the becared students, so that they can write some words of gratitude to the caring parents. On the spot, the representative student, Ching-Hsuan Chen handed the thank-you card to her caring parent, Ms. Jau-Ling Huang. The scene was warm and touching. Parents and caring students also receive blessings from pastors and ministers.
We also asked Pastor Ku to do some short sharing, in which Pastor Ku encouraged everyone with a "Prayer of an Unknown Confederate Soldier". Pastor Ku taught at Chang Jung Christian University for 11 years. In 11 years, he was called to Chang Jung Christian University as a South Korean teacher to teach and contribute his heart to the school. Pastor Ku also sang a Hymn in Taiwanese and Korean with his wonderful voice. "On the day, only the Lord is trusted." This is his belief in the same attitude and is also shared and encouraged to colleagues here.
Faculty and Staff Fellowship and the Office of Chaplains gave Pastor Ku a commemorative gift. It was a woodcarving plaque engraved with "Faithful lord, meritorious retirement", and the final gathering ended after the prayer of Rev. James Wu of the chairman of Office of Chaplains.
