〔Reported by the Office of the Chaplain〕
The Office of the Chaplain of CJCU held the "2021 Adulthood Service for Studnet" on the 3rd, inviting Chairman Szu-Hai Yang, the Founder Jen-Chun Hwang, President Yung-Lung Lee, and International Consultant Mr. Chiew Toh Hie to attend the service to bless and encourage students. This year we specially arranged for the students to pass through the balloon arch to represent that a new stage of life is about to begin. Teachers will crown the students, representing wisdom and courage, stepping into a new stage of life. Through the bottle of dreams, they can give themselves a future wish. The expectation of growing up in adulthood rings the Shen Hsing Bell, opening a brave and responsible path to adulthood for oneself. Emphasize that as an adult, you must know how to thank your parents and teachers for nurturing, and you must not only be responsible for yourself, but also have a sense of mission for social responsibility and environmental sustainability
The Dean of the Office of the Chapalin, Rev. Dr. James Wu, through the scriptures, 1 Peter 3:10-11 and Titus 2:7 encourage students to uphold goodness, forbid evil words, turn away from evil and do good, seek harmony, and in everything set ourselves an example by doing what is good, so that we can have a better, healthy and safe environment. Chairman Szu-Hai Yang also encourages all students to improve their minds as adult representatives, just as in the name of being cautious in words and deeds, being responsible for themselves, enjoying rights, and paying due obligations. The founder Jen-Chun Huang also specializes in physicians. Through understanding the growth of brain cells, he encourages students to enrich themselves in the university for more than four years, learn more, read more, fill their brains with rich knowledge, enrich themselves, and create beauty future for themselves.
The President Yung-Lung Lee also mentioned that he participated in the Cycling to Wushantou Reservoir held by the Ecological Education Center. From the path he has taken, he can see the contributions made by the predecessors to the society and the ecological environment. He reminds students what can be seen through today’s Adulthood Service? After watching the contributions made by the predecessors, we can look forward to have the motivation to move forward. Therefore, after attending the Adulthood Service, students should think about how to look at their lives? The school has teachers, how to let themselves be free in the university, through the teachers to solve puzzles, and create a beautiful sky.
This time, we also invited Consultant Chiew Toh Hie, the International Consultant, to share all the related activities he has done in the remote rural areas of northern Thailand, encouraging young people to participate in volunteers and go to the remote rural areas to do caring actions to show proof of adulthood. Since 2018, Chang Jung Christian University has joined such volunteer services for two consecutive years. he hopes that after the epidemic, our school can continue to have students willing to join such volunteers.
Every year, the Adulthood Service is scheduled to be held on the week before Mother's Day. It is also to look forward to the adulthood of the children, and remember to be grateful for the parenting and cultivation of parents. This year’s we also encourages students to practice in various activities, with the five core values of respecting heaven, loving others, cherishing things, practising and being grateful. And write down records of all the activities they participated in, and record them into their own Growing Up Diary. After being assessed by the pastor of the Office of the Chaplain, those who have performed well will be rewarded for encouragement, and the "Growing Up Diary" will be printed out for them to leave them with proof of adulthood and the most beautiful memories of their growth across life.
We were more grateful to the class leaders who came to watch the ceremony and personally brought the blessings to their students, which made the students feel more warm. Finally, those studnts received abundant blessings in through the pastors prayed for them.
