2022Summer Mission Trip in Indigenous Tribe
[Office of the Chaplain Report]
During the one-week summer mission trip, from July 18th to July 24th this year. We came to Tjavadran Presbyterian Church in Dashe Village, Sandimen Township, Pingtung County. The team is formed by 20 students joining this mission trip including 9 fellowship students and 11 students from different departments. We all participate in the planning of the whole activities for the camp.
During the time of the mission trip, we held a summer camp for tribal children, by singing songs, playing games, and dramas, and having quality time with children. Life in the tribe is so special to experience the indigenous culture and living style. Student co-workers are so enjoyable with tribal children and have a lot of fun. Since they learn how to serve the tribal children with love and patience, the tribal children also return back their warm hugs and passion to them. Those are very wonderful moments to connect with each other through live communication.
On the weekend, we also bring some material things to bless disadvantaged families. Students learn what their needs and difficulties are in the trible life through this action. On Sunday, there are two big events that come together, the special celebration for tribal adulthood service and the harvest festival. Both are very important things for an indigenous tribe's life. We are so lucky to participate in two events and spend much wonderful time with the church community. May God bless Tjavadran Church by His grace and hope the tribal people love to join it and become a prosperous church.
