2022/10/05 Memorial Service for Rev. Thomas Barclay

October 5th is the 87th anniversary of Pastor Barclay's death. Chang Jung Christian University, Chang Jung Girls' High School, and Barclay Memorial Park Sustainability Development Association jointly held a memorial service at Tainan Christian Cemetery. 

On his 16th birthday, Pastor Barclay wrote a pledge of devotion to God, dedicating himself to God, and serving God for the rest of his life. After that, on his birthday every year, he re-corrected the content of the pledge of dedication and signed it. He signed on October 1, 1935. He died of illness in Tainan on the 5th of the month. He devoted himself to Taiwan for 60 years and benefited the people on this land.

During the service, we sang hymns and listened to seven missionaries including Pastor Barclay, Ms. Lu Renai, Ms. Tu Weilin, Ms. Gaohana, Ms. Wumayu, Ms. Wan Zhenzhu, Dr. Lu Jiamin, Dr. Elizabeth Song, who were buried in the Tainan Christian Cemetery. The deeds of the missionaries, and offering flowers and prayers to remember their contributions to the land and people of Taiwan.
