Lighting site arrangement - Happy Bird House.
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Service series was launched at CJCU Hall at 2 pm on the 24th. This year’s theme is “Rise and Shine”. In addition to the lighting Service, there are second-hand flea market, CJCU Hall briefings, Student Club performances, etc., enrich the lighting Service and have a deep meaning of inheriting and sustaining the new atmosphere. Alumni Association, tennis player Lu Yen-hsun, architects Ming-Yua Kan, Lu-Chih Li, local partners and many other guests attended the event.
This Christmas decoration was planned and coordinated by Chien-Bang Chen and Hsien-Chang Wang, teachers of the School of Information and Design, and led all the freshmen of the School of Information and Design to jointly create it with basic design courses. Chien-Bang Chen explained that this plan for this year decoration, in addition to placing the Christmas tree landscaping directly in the CJCU Hall, also exerted creative design and cooperated with, the freshmen of Bachelor Degree Program in Taiwan Cultural and Creative Industries of the School of Fine Arts, to complete the Happy Bird House and help sparrows make their own home. In addition, Hsien-Chang Wang said that The Department of Interaction Design also produced interactive subtitle lights this time, which can be adjusted the English letters and colors at will to the scene using in the Lighting Sercvice. The effect attracted the attention of the public.
During the event, we specially invited Chen-Hua Wen, the host of CJCU’s Sugar House Project and former dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Ming-Yua Kan, the designer and architect of the "CJCU Hall", to start a dialogue with everyone on the century-old history of Sugar House and environmental sustainability. CJCU Hall is not only a bamboo structure building, but also connects with the history of the sugar house a hundred years ago, endowing it with the meaning and mission of sustainable regeneration. Before the construction of the CJCU Hall, a group of teachers and colleagues in the school assisted in the promotion and implementation of the reconstruction project of the sugar house. In the way of cross-domain co-creation of themes, using the professional capabilities of interdisciplinary departments, gradually realize the dream of reappearing the Sugar House. Because of their input, let everyone understand the historical context of the sugar industry on the land under their feet; and Ming-Yua Kan shared the CJCU Hall in relation to the architectural configuration of the campus and the challenges it faces, the concept of both globalization and localization is included, not just a sustainable combination of new trends.
This year, as usual, second-hand items sales were held, and all proceeds from the sales were donated to the "Higher Education Sprout Project—Making Resources More Public". Many faculty, staff and students participated in this event to spread love. A total of 9,122 dollars was raised this time. In addition to the charity sale of second-hand items, the flea market also invited Guei Nong Hao Zhan, Datan Hyggelig Herb Garden, Benica’s Shop, an international student who is studying in IPSD , and an Indonesian girl who is studying in the Department of Tourism, Food & Beverage Management, to sell healthy and safe agricultural products, plant essential oils, Dry fruits, hometown traditional costumes, hand-made snacks, etc., and there is also a "Knowledge of Impediments+" booth from Counseling Center. It is hoped that faculty, staff and students can take this opportunity to experience the conditions faced by learning, physical, visual and other disabilities, and work together to create a friendly and accepting campus environment.
In the Lighting Service, the tradition of previous years was continued, and awards were given to the winners of the main lamp iron sculpture design with the theme of Bible stories. Chih Kang Material Company will assist the winners to make them into large-scale works. After Christmas, the works will be placed in the campus. It is available for everyone to watch at the side entrance of T1 building..
The lighting series ended with the performance of the aboriginal dance by the Dasduluma Club of the school, and other performances of the violin club, a series of music feasts by the music creation performance class team, and the singing of hymns by the Worship and Praise Fellowship. The light of the CJCU Hall illuminates the road of CJCU towards sustainable development.
