2022 Christmas Caroling Gather teachers and students to deliver our Love
〔Report by the Office of the Chaplain〕
On December 19th and 20th, the Office of the Chaplain held "Christmas Love and Care Caroling" and "Christmas Train Stations Coraling". These events held every year during Christmas week. Because Christ loves the world, we should also share love to those in need. We collected some materials or donations from faculty, staff, students and outsiders. In this cold winter, we sent our love to needy families in nearby neighborhoods, spread the good news of love, and hope to bring warmth to the public.
On the evening of the 19th, three teams were divided, accompanied by the village chief or Loving Mother, to deliver the love materials to a total of 20 disadvantaged families in the three villages of Da Tan district, Wu Dong district and Zhongzhou district. They also arranged to go to the Christian New Lamb Supporting House (the rehabilitated half-way house) to give care. The Office of the Chaplain led those students of Student Fellowship, and who participating in Service-learning, and who voluntarily signed up. Some students whose parents encouraged them to participate in such meaningful activities as social care. At the same time, some guitarists from Student Fellowship and violinists from Violin Club were also invited to participate in the event. Total 40 people participated in the Christmas Coraling and joyful Christmas songs to bring blessings to these families and wish them a happy Christmas and New Year. These families appreciated CJCU to send them love and blessings every year, they expressed their joy and gratitude. After the event, the Office of the Chaplain also listened to the sharing and feedback from the participating students. Everyone responded positively and mentioned that they were very happy to participate in such a meaningful event and hoped to participate again next year.
On the 20th, the Christmas Train Station Caroking was held. In the past two years, due to the pandemic, we could not go there. Since the pandemic slowed down, we resumed going to Tainan High Speed Rail Station and other nearby train stations to do the Christmas Caroling this year. In addition to the guitar, the keyboard, and the hand bell group played wonderful Christmas songs together with Hand-Chimes, several faculty members, IPSD students, service-learning students and Students Fellowship participated in this activity. In addition to going to the nearby train stations, we also go to the nearby business stores on Changrong Road to do the coraling every year, sharing the peace and joy of the Christmas season.
