Faculty and Staff Retreat Focused on Discussing Eye Health to Ensure Bright and Healthy Eyes for Everyone.
[Chaplain Office Report]
On June 30th, the Chaplain Office of Chang Jung University held a faculty and staff retreat at CJCU Hall. A total of 113 colleagues enthusiastically participated in the event. Ms. Chen Qinghui, the fellowship leader, specially invited ophthalmologist Dr. Zheng Hanchun to share knowledge about eye health.
Dr. Zheng, who retired from Cheng Kung University Hospital, currently serves as a resident physician at a private clinic. He shared common pediatric eye diseases and the causes of myopia and hyperopia in daily life. In particular, he highlighted the increasing prevalence of myopia in children in recent years, which is associated with the widespread use of electronic devices. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of eye care for adults, as prolonged computer work has become unavoidable in daily occupations. Dr. Zheng encouraged colleagues to take timely breaks, look into the distance, and adjust focus to reduce eye strain caused by the radiation from screens.
After the informative lecture, it was an exciting moment for colleagues as the raffle took place. This year, the university prepared gift cards of different amounts as prizes. A total of 35 individuals were lucky winners, and they were all delighted with their prizes. At the end of the event, faculty and staff joined together in singing "Live Out Love" to bless one another. The Campus Ministry wishes for God's blessings upon Chang Jung's faculty and staff, hoping for smooth work in their respective departments and units, mutual support and encouragement in facing challenges and difficulties, and the ability to soar above obstacles like eagles breaking through barriers.
Before the lecture started, colleagues engaged in some warm-up exercises.
After the lecture concluded, a raffle event took place.
A total of 35 people won gift cards through the raffle.
