2019/02/11 Staff Retreat
On the first day of work after the Luner New Year break days, the Faculty and Staff Fellowship and the Office of Chaplains held a staff retreat. There was about 200 staff members participated. In addition to arranging lively singing and body movements to warm up, the members of the Faculty and Staff Fellowship and the Office of Chaplains sang the blessing song "The Lord's Grace", wishing everyone "Happy New Year with abundance of grace from the Lord". Dr. Ching-Huey Chen, a professor of the Department of Nursing and the Learder of the Faulty and Staff Fellowship, delivered a healthy and enregetic message called "Gas Station for our Body and Soul". There was a "Lucky Draw" activity as a finale to have a warm and happy ending for the retreat.
Professor Ching-Huey Chen encouraged everyone sould have a new vision, a new hope, and a change of thought to ignite the enthusiasm for things in the new semester of the new year. And learn how to make stress to be a friend and turn stress into help. She also encouraged everyone to rebuild their habits of thinking, not to blame and blame others, not to let some things wear off their enthusiasm for work, to know the blessings from work, and to reflect the value of service. In the course of the speech, she personally demonstrates some fingers exercise to let our brains to get more activable with the humorous teaching way, and also brought the flexibility of the lower body exercise to eliminate the Small "Belly" Women, Big "Belly" Men, so that everyone's body and mind can be completely healthy.
Chairman of the Board Szu-Hai Yang and President Yung-Lung Lee also cheered for the staff and colleagues, and hosted a lucky draw to draw 20 lucky winners. On the same day, each of the colleagues participated the retreat also received a blessing red envelope with Bible verses and a surprise gift from the Office of Chaplains. Everyone in the atmosphere of joy, got a rich feast of body and soul.
Rev. Ming-Chih Cheng of Office of Chaplains, said that the purpose of the retreat was to follow the example of Jesus Christ when he evangelized in the world. During the period of preaching, he would retreat to the wilderness and rejuvenate his tired body and mind. Therefore, Chang Jung Christian University organizes this retreat for staff, and also hopes to let staff take the opportunity to renew their strengths and spirits and soar on the wings like eagles.
