Suggestion for overseas students during summer vacation
Dear CJCU overseas students
How is everything this semester in CJCU? This semester, everyone is deeply influenced by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and feels something inconvenient.
Thanks to the cooperation of all of you in Taiwan, the epidemic situation is well controlled.
However, the epidemic situation of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is still unstable all over the world. To reduce the risk of infection, please reduce to move between countries. Currently, the Taiwan government does well by controlling the spread of the epidemic. As a result, staying in Taiwan is relatively safer than in other countries.
The situation of the epidemic is constantly changing. Taiwan government does the epidemic prevention and continuously adjusts it by the current situation. Actually, no one could predict what the epidemic situation will be around the coming semester (Sep. 2020). Also, we can not know the immigration restriction at that time. At present, we have some suggestion and instruction for you below:
1. Taking a plane may get the risk of infection. What’s more, if the epidemic situation becomes more serious, you can not book the return ticket easily. For the reason above, we suggest that do not return to your country during this summer vacation.
2. If you must leave Taiwan during the summer vacation, please inform the office of your department and the Office of Admissions.
3. After returning to Taiwan, you must follow the regulation for epidemic prevention made by the Taiwan government at that time, like the regulation of home quarantine or self-health management. Please keep in mind that if you do not follow the regulation, you will face a maximum fine of NT$1,000,000.
4. After returning to Taiwan, at that time, if the regulation is that you need to do the home quarantine for 14 days, please follow it definitely. Currently, CJCU has a quarantine zone and only charges you some basic fee. For the quarantine zone, we give the priority use for the freshmen. If there are any remaining rooms, we will open for others who live in the school dormitory first. However, if the quarantine zone is full, please make the arrangement of home quarantine by yourself. You can do the quarantine in your own renting place. What’s more, you can also live in the quarantine hotel which cooperates with the Taiwan government, please call 06-2880180 for more information.
5. For home quarantine, you need to live in a room individually. In the room, the bathroom must be contained. In addition, you must stay in the room for 14 days and can not leave definitely. Even if your friends want to give you something, he/she can’t get into your room, and also can’t have any contact with you. Please remember to abide by the regulations above.

Please refer to:https://coa.immigration.gov.tw/coa-frontend/student/entry
Originally, if your ARC is expired, you have to reapply visa, then return to Taiwan. However, due to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), foreigners can only come to Taiwan by ARC, not by visa. As a result, please pay attention to your ARC is expired or not.
Through cooperation with all of you, we believe that the epidemic situation can be controlled.
Sincerely
Office of Admissions
