About IPSD
What is Sustainable Development?
According to the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED), sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Mainstream sustainability thinking focuses on the conflict between the environmental degradation that commonly accompanies economic growth, and the need for such growth to alleviate poverty.
During the Sustainable Development for the Environment course event on Oct. 26, 2017, students constructed artificial floating islands in wetland systems for the China Steel Structure Company, Kaohsiung City.
